Hi beautiful humans, Leela here!

I am a self taught mixed media / resin / woodworking artist living in Las Vegas. Soon I will be adding ...welder to my list of skills, I am so excited for that.  I have always been learning new art forms: sewing, costume making, crocheting..."Jill of trades". I am originally from Ethiopia, where I was born and raised until my early teens.  When I was in 7th grade I moved to America, with zero ability to speak English.  Trying to fit in and make new friends while not being able to communicate was challenging to say the least.
All the challenges and difficult times has helped me grow as a person and discover the deep love I have for art and the creative process. At 14 years old I started making jewelry and bedazzling everything I could find, and the rest is history.  No matter what stage of life, art has always been my happy place, my therapy, and most of all its what makes my soul happy.
A few years ago I discovered resin and I was instantly hooked.  Resin is a fantastic medium that allows me to created realistic oceans and beach scenes.  In 2018, I decided to take a chance and pursue my dreams by establishing my own business, Art by Leela. Where I began to create hand made resin art and home wares in my home studio.  My continuous curiosity in learning new art forms helps me develop new ideas and concepts, which I can't wait to share with all of you!
